About Us

We’re a family-run business rooted in a genuine love for home, garden, and community. As proud parents of three kids and two energetic dogs, we know how important it is to create spaces that are both beautiful and lived-in. We’ve called the island home for many years and spend as much time as we can walking the local trails and soaking up moments at the many beautiful beaches.

Our roots in the community extend beyond home and garden.

We've owned and operated the Gabriola Fitness Centre since 2017, where we’ve had the privilege of supporting health, movement, and overall wellbeing in the community.

Being part of the community this way has shaped how we do business—leading with trust, consistency, and genuine care in how we serve our customers each day.

Our Approach

A store built for island life.

We’re here to make everyday life on Gabriola easier.

This store exists so you don’t have to leave the island for the things you need most — the last‑minute fixes, the practical basics, the seasonal essentials, and the quiet problem‑solvers that keep life running smoothly.

If you walk in feeling rushed, stuck, or mildly frustrated, our hope is that you leave feeling relieved.

What we believe:

Practical matters. We focus on items that are useful, reliable, and worth having on hand. Not trendy. Not overcomplicated. Just things that work.

Island values come first. We prioritize septic‑safe, pet‑safe, environmentally mindful, and Canadian‑made products whenever possible — because island living comes with its own realities.

Community beats convenience culture. We don’t stock what looks good on a shelf. We stock what our neighbours actually ask for, need, and rely on.

Trust is everything. Clear pricing, honest recommendations, and no pressure. If something isn’t right for you, we’ll tell you.

What Makes Us Different:

We’re not trying to be a big‑box store.

We’re a local store shaped by real conversations, lived experience, and the simple goal of saving ferry trips. Our shelves reflect the rhythm of island life — practical, seasonal, and community‑driven.

We listen. We adapt. And we grow the store alongside the people who use it.
